Ms. Farkas long repertoire list includes: Arthur Honneger's Jeanne d'Arc au Bucher conducted by Alain Lombard with the Lyon National Orchestra at the festival of Chaise-Dieu (France); Francis Burt's Und Gott der Herr Sprach, conducted by Richard Edlinger with the United Philharmonic at Wien Modern Festival organized by Konzerthaus Wien; Hartmut Wenland's Maria Magdalena, Gheorghe Dima's Liturghia Sf. Ioan Gura de Aur conducted by Constantin Ripa at Arezzo Music Festival, Italy and the Middlesbrough Music Festival UK; as well as numerous cantatas by J.S. Bach conducted by Dr. Christfred Brödel at the International Bach Academy.
In Canada Ms. Farkas was engaged in leading roles for the production of George Bizet's Carmen conducted by Geoffrey Butler at Markham Theatre for the Performing Arts; W.A. Mozart's The Magic Flute, conducted by Shek Ko at the Rose Theatre (Brampton), An Evening of Opera with Russel Braun, conducted by Mark Du Bois at the Rose Theatre (Brampton), the commemorative concert Cernobyl 20, conducted by Lydia Adams and Halyna Kvitka Kondracki at Roy Thomson Hall (Toronto), Valentine's Day Gala with the Kindered Spirits Orchestra conducted by Kristian Alexander at Markham Theatre for the Performing Arts. In addition Ms. Farkas has performed various solo recitals both around Europe and across Canada.
In 2009, Ms. Farkas was approached with an offer to participate in an ambitious recording project that included the most comprehensive collection of over 500 traditional Hungarian sacred songs, currently used in hundreds of Hungarian churches and schools worldwide. Her latest solo album was recorded in Toronto in 2011 and it is available at various retailers including Amazon and iTunes.
Ms. Farkas holds a Bachelor in Arts degree from the Romanian Gheorghe Dima University of Music.
